    Greetings from Yosemite

    By Russ | November 11, 2009

It’s beautiful here. It’s cold. We can’t quite believe we rode our bikes here, but here we are! Laura has never been here before. I use to come here when I was young. It is awe inspiring and grander than even my memories. Yosemite by bike is a must!

Which way did you ride into the park? I was up there in July and was thinking that the roads in were not very bicycle friendly.

Yosemite is a deadly place to ride a road bike in the Summer when it is busy. Many of the roads have no shoulder and are full of huge RVs and traffic is very heavy. In November it may be grand because there is almost no one there as compared to July.

      Errin,
We took the 49 South into Mariposa and the 140 into Yosemite. The roads don’t have much of a shoulder, but if there’s no traffic it’s actually really nice! Like tom said, you have to pick your time of the year. I don’t think I’d do it during the summer, but a little off season, like now, is great!
