    One of those Moments

    By Russ | March 7, 2010

Trying something different. I recorded this audio while we were sitting around a campfire in Marathon, TX. I decided to mix it with some riding video and some of the portraits I’ve taken of the people we’ve met. Here’s to our fellow travelers and the road angels we meet!

Wow, what a beautiful video. The still photos really draw you into the moment. It’s a shame there are no Oscars for blog videos.

      Thanks for sharing your adventure,

      Jack

Thanks for a great start to monday. Great vid and song. Also, thanks for the kind words about the “western” part of our state. Wonderful piece of America.

The images are great, of course. And the song is one of those things that sounds better because of its imperfections … imagining the context makes it even better. Thanks for sharing.

Wow, great video. Somehow, I think you really nailed it. You expressed feeling in sounds and images that is so difficult to convey. Pieces like this are what going to convert everyone over to getting out of the house and experiencing reality.

      - Here is an impromptu to Haiku:

      Russ and Laura,
It is Tom from the oregon coast, who was on the folding bike temporarily. Great video, so true, those are the moments you will remember forever and dig up on those wind and rain in your face days. I am pretty well settled in Asheville, NC and hope your ride brings you through this area. Keep on peddling.
      With Love,
      Tom

Hi Russ and Laura. I can’t stop watching your video! Not only does bring me into your moment, but it relives for me every one of my own “one of those moments” I’ve ever had while on the road. Thanks very much for that and please keep it up.

Great post….no EPIC post. Awesome photos and amazing stories. My favorite events traveling have been just as you describe. You should get in touch with Afar Magazine and see if they will let you do a feature. Very cool.

The video is like the message; none of the things are perfect, but it seems just perfect.
